Course Synopsis

Participants will be able to identify how to maximise the use of their time by analysing their current time allocation, reducing time wasters, overcoming procrastination and utilising techniques such as planning, prioritising, managing interruptions and delegation to make more effective use of time.

Who is the course for?

All staff who wish to increase their work productivity through implementing effective time management principles in order to manage work and personal demands and the pressures placed upon them.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the importance of effective time management
  • Review and clarify generally accepted principles of time management
  • Identify activities and tasks that should be given priority over others
  • List and explain the use of time planning tools
  • Explain the use of, complete and analyse a time management diary
  • Develop practical approaches and habits for organising time more effectively

Strategies

The course is highly interactive in nature and includes group discussion, group work, activities and exercises, questionnaires, case studies, video discussion, demonstration, and individual reflection and planning. Completion of a follow-up survey will determine whether the key concepts and learning have been effectively transferred to the participants.
