Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
1. Overview
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is now a 5 day blended learning program comprising of an introductory webinar, pre-course tasks and reading; a highly interactive 5-day training workshop, 2 follow-up webinars and self-paced learning. There are ten (10) units of competency necessary to gain this qualification, including 7 core units and 3 electives.
To ensure participants successfully achieve all units of competency, Customer Contact Solutions has designed a stimulating and well paced training program that is delivered in three (3) key clusters:
- Cluster 1 Learning Design (DES) - 2 units
- Cluster 2 Delivery and Facilitation (DEL) – 4 units
- Cluster 3 Assessment (ASS) – 4 units
Our program format combines pre-course activities with an intensive 5 day program; post-program tele-tutorials and access to course mentors, which will ensure that you have the best possible opportunity to successfully complete this qualification in the shortest time possible.
We provide highly experienced trainers on each program and limit the numbers of participants in order to maximise learning and the completion of all assessments. Tutors are available to provide assistance outside of the scheduled times as required.
Customer Contact Solutions also offers TAE40110 as a self-paced program and provides students with the opportunity to undertake the program through RPL/RCC.
Course Fees
Our standard fees for TAE40110 are as follows:
1. $1250 - Intensive Course enrolment (paid in one payment) OR payment plan of 3 monthly payments of $450. including morning and afternoon tea, lunch; all workbook materials and assessments, and ongoing tutorial support.
2. $1000 – Self-Paced – includes all workbook materials and assessments and one on one tutor support.
3. $1000 – Recognition of Prior Learning/Current Competencies (RPL/RCC) – includes RPL/RCC kit and TAE40110 Kit plus one on one tutor support.
2. Format of the Qualification
In order to complete the full qualification for TAE40110, participants are required to complete 10 units which comprise of 7 core units and 3 electives. Details regarding the clustering format of the 10 units now follows:
Cluster 1: Learning Design (DES) – 2 units
The learning design units address competence in both the design of learning products and the design of the learning process. These units will provide participants with the foundation skills and knowledge for designing competency based training to meet client’s needs.
You will also learn how to unpack and use training packages for different purposes as well as design, outline the content and review the effectiveness of learning programs to meet your learner’s needs and organisational requirements.

| TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs | This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to conceptualise, design, develop and review learning programs to meet an identified need for a group of learners. The unit addresses the skills and knowledge needed to identify the parameters of a learning program, determine the design, outline the content and review its effectiveness. |
| TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs | This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use training packages and accredited courses as tools to support industry, organisation and individual competency development needs. |

This cluster is structured around various case studies and workshop activities which presents participants with a working kowledge of the use of VET in organisations. Students are also sent pre-readings in advance to familiarise themselves with terminology used and the key concepts.
Cluster 2: Delivery and Facilitation – 4 units
The delivery and facilitation units are designed to address the competence required to deliver training and facilitate learning.
They will provide participants with the key skills and knowledge to present effective and interactive training sessions, focusing on key areas such as individual learning in the workplace, group facilitation, work skills instruction and making a presentation.
With a very practical “hands on” and “how to” approach, these units are based on learning the theory behind great training and facilitation, with the delivery of a series of presentations and work place instructions to the course group by each participant. Hence, the program is structured around practical sessions which aim to develop the key competencies of participants.
This cluster is designed for both experienced trainers and trainers with limited or no experience, together with supervisors and line managers, and those individuals who would like to deliver and facilitate effective training and workplace learning sessions.

This cluster is the core of TAE40110 and provides participants with the essential skills and knowledge to plan and prepare training sessions and presentations and then effectively deliver and review the delivery and facilitation of such sessions and presentations.
Cluster 3: Assessment (ASS) – 4 units
This cluster provides participants with the essential skills and knowledge to confidently plan, organise, conduct and validate assessment processes.

- TAEASS301A – Contribute to assessment
- TAEASS402A – Assess competence
- TAEASS403A – Participate in assessment validation

3. Recognition of prior learning and experience
Any relevant courses and experience will be matched against all of the elements of competency and performance criteria for each unit, and credit given for those elements and standards already achieved. Evidence of competency can be certificates, examples of work, statements from employers/managers or verbal explanations. Recognition of prior learning for the full course will be subject to a fee of $1000.
4. Assessment
To demonstrate your competence in each of the above areas in the TAE40110 program you will be expected to complete assessment activities in the form of workshop activities or individual projects throughout the program.
In order to be awarded a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment you will need to have completed all the required assessment activities and have been marked competent in all 10 units of competency. Competence means having the skills and knowledge to correctly carry out a task, skill or function to the required standard and apply the required skills and knowledge within a workplace context.
Your trainer will provide support and further details regarding the entire assessment process. The requirements for successfully achieving competency in each of the units of competency are listed below:
