Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - UPGRADE

1. Overview

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Upgrade course is a 3 day interactive training program. This course is designed for those who have the qualification, BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, and wish to upgrade to the latest training and assessment qualification. Eight units of competency are required to upgrade to this qualification. Six of these will be delivered as face to face training or self-paced. The remaining two units will be completed through a Recognition of Prior Learning process based on application in the workplace.

To ensure participants achieve these units of competency, Customer Contact Solutions has designed a stimulating and enjoyable training program, delivered in three sessions,  3 x 1 days. See our training calendar for workshop times.

Our program format and course mentors will ensure you have the best possible opportunity to achieve this qualification. We provide highly experienced trainers on each program and limited numbers of participants in order to maximise learning.

There is a requirement that participants must have the nationally recognised BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training qualification for entry into this program.  A copy of this qualification will need to be submitted at the time of enrolment; and the original will need to be sighted prior to the course commencing.

Fees

  1. $750 - full attendance - includes morning & afternoon teas, lunch and all workbook materials and assessments.
  2. $650 - self-paced - includes all workbook materials and assessments and one on one tutor support.
  3. $495 - Recognition of prior learning/current competencies (RPL/RCC) - includes RPL/RCC kit and TAA40104 Kit plus one on one tutor support.

2. Target Group 

This program has been designed for people working at all levels in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector who wish to update their qualifications.

3. Format of the Qualification

Workshop 1: Fundamentals of Workplace Training (1 day) (Learning Environment)  

This workshop is designed to address the national competency standards to work effectively in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system, to foster and promote an inclusive learning culture, and to ensure a healthy and safe learning environment. This workshop is structured around various case studies and workshop activities which presents participants with a working knowledge of the use of VET in organisations.

The learning outcomes provide the National Competency Standards for:

TAAENV401B Work effectively in vocational education and training This unit specifies the competency required to work effectively in the policy and operating environment of the vocational education and training sector
TAAENV402B Foster and promote an inclusive learning culture This unit specifies the competency required to foster and promote an environment which supports inclusive work practices and learning culture
TAAENV403B Ensure a healthy and safe learning environment This unit specifies the competency required to ensure the health, safety and welfare of learners and candidates

 Workshop 2: Learning Design (1 day) 

The learning design units address competence in both the design of learning products and the design of the learning program. The workshop will provide participants with the foundation skills and knowledge for designing competency based training to meet client’s needs. You will learn how to unpack and use training packages for different purposes and in order to meet your learner’s needs and organizational requirements.

The learning outcomes provide the National Competency Standards for:

TAADES401B Use training packages to meet client needs This unit specifies the competency required to use Training Packages and accredited courses as a tool to support industry, organisation or individual competency development needs

Workshop 3: Assessing Competency Based Training (1 day) 

This workshop provides participants with an overview of how competency based assessments align with the training framework in Australia. By the conclusion of this program participants will develop the knowledge and skills to confidently develop* and validate assessment tools.

The learning outcomes provide the National Competency Standards for:

TAAASS403B Develop assessment tools This unit specifies the competence required to develop assessment tools
TAAASS404B Participate in assessment validation This unit specifies the competence required to participate in an assessment validation process

*Some prior learning assumed through BSZ401A Plan Assessment and BSZ402A Conduct Assessment.

4. Recognition of prior learning for BSZ40198 

In order to gain credit for TAADEL404B Facilitate work‑based learning and TAADEL403B Facilitate individual learning - candidates will need to have supplementary evidence of having applied BSZ404A Train Small Groups and/or BSZ407A Deliver Training Sessions in a work context and relevant techniques of individual facilitation in a one-to-one training approach - this would typically include a list of training dates; types of training sessions conducted by you and the target groups involved in the training sessions. All candidates must show current competency in training delivery.

The learning outcomes provide the National Competency Standards for:

TAADEL403B Facilitate individual learning This unit specifies the competency required to facilitate individual learning through a one-on-one relationship between a learner and facilitator
TAADEL404B Facilitate work based learning This unit specifies the outcomes required to use work effectively as a learning process

5. Recognition of prior learning and experience 

Any relevant courses and experience will be matched against all of the elements of competency and performance criteria for each unit, and credit given for those elements and standards already achieved. Evidence of competency can be certificates, examples of work, statements from employers/managers or verbal explanations.  Recognition of prior learning for the upgrade course will be subject to a fee of $495.00.
